Distressed Product Group – Credit Analyst (VP) – Sydney, Australia
Are you an experienced credit analyst with a passion for distressed products? We are seeking a talented Vice President (VP) to join our Distressed Product Group in Sydney. If you have a strong background in credit analysis, restructuring, and distressed investing, this is the opportunity for you!
About the Role:
As a Credit Analyst within the Distressed Product Group, you will focus on providing in-depth credit analysis of distressed and special situations. You’ll be responsible for evaluating distressed credit opportunities, assisting in investment decision-making, and working closely with internal teams to execute strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough credit analysis on distressed companies, assessing financial health, risk factors, and recovery prospects
- Provide insights and recommendations for investments in distressed debt and related special situations
- Collaborate with senior bankers and portfolio managers to formulate and execute investment strategies
- Build and maintain financial models to project recovery scenarios and assess risk-return profiles
- Support the due diligence process, including meetings with management teams, external advisors, and legal counsel
- Monitor and report on the performance of distressed assets, including preparing regular updates for senior management
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong experience (5+ years) in credit analysis, distressed investing, restructuring, or special situations
- Advanced knowledge of financial modeling and valuation techniques
- Expertise in assessing the risk and return profiles of distressed debt and credit
- Strong understanding of capital structures, bankruptcy, and restructuring processes
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with senior stakeholders
- Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus
