Private Banking Officer II

Role Overview:
The Private Banking Officer II is responsible for providing day-to-day servicing for Private Banking clients, thereby relieving Client Managers and Private Bankers from account-specific operational responsibilities. This role involves resolving client inquiries and complaints, identifying cross-sell opportunities by assessing deposit portfolios and client needs, and working directly with clients in all areas of deposit operations. The officer ensures quality service and client retention by providing accurate and timely information. Additionally, the role oversees the risk associated with the operational aspects of client servicing and transaction processing for the supported portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

Risk Management/Compliance: Perform deposit operations-related activities within the department's authority, including reviewing and processing deposits, approving checks for cashing, processing deposit fee reversals, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of account activity. Identify potential problems and take appropriate action to avoid financial loss to the bank. Facilitate new deposit account and small business consumer lending requests by providing disclosures, gathering documents, and maintaining ongoing communication with clients. Complete Know Your Customer (KYC) processes for new clients, entities, and loans. Respond promptly and accurately to inquiries from the bank's Financial Intelligence Unit and other support units regarding client transactions and account activity. Ensure compliance with all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Client Services: Act as the primary liaison between clients and all areas of the bank. Follow up on all client requests to ensure completion and satisfaction. Resolve client inquiries and complaints, taking appropriate action to prevent future issues. Contact clients regarding overdrafts or other related problems and perform necessary follow-up to resolve situations.
Cross-Sell: Analyze client needs to cross-sell a wide variety of bank services. Introduce clients to appropriate areas within the bank, such as Wealth Management, International, Treasury Management, or to a Private Banker. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all bank products and services. Participate in cross-sell activities independently or with the Private Banker, as appropriate. Channel referrals and warm leads from existing clients to the Private Banker or Private Banker Manager.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in client service, banking operations, or Private Banking relationship management support. At least 5 years of experience in a banking or financial services environment, with substantial knowledge of bank products and services (e.g., deposits, cash management, international).
Skills and Knowledge: Strong risk management and operations knowledge. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients and bank colleagues at all levels. Solid understanding of all phases of operations, including installment loans, new accounts, loan payments, statement handling, and wires. Exceptional analytical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook). Demonstrated capability to adapt, learn, and utilize evolving automation and technology to perform the job.

Compensation:
Starting base salary ranges from $65,296 to $104,304 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This position is eligible for bonuses and/or commissions.
