Banking Officer/Compliance Officer

Role Overview:
The Banking Officer/Compliance Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing compliance-related activities within the bank. This role ensures that the bank operates in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The officer will work closely with various departments to implement compliance programs and provide guidance on regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the bank's operations comply with relevant laws and regulations, including anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC) requirements.
Policy Implementation: Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
Training and Education: Provide training to staff on compliance-related topics to promote a culture of compliance within the organization.
Monitoring and Reporting: Conduct regular audits and monitoring activities to assess compliance with internal policies and external regulations; report findings to senior management.
Risk Assessment: Identify and assess compliance risks, implementing corrective actions as necessary to address any deficiencies.
Liaison Role: Serve as the primary point of contact between the bank and regulatory agencies, facilitating communication and coordination during examinations and audits.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in banking compliance or a related area, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance best practices.
Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) are preferred.
Skills: Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to interpret complex regulations and provide clear guidance to staff.
Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of banking regulations, including AML, KYC, and other relevant compliance areas.
