Head of Private Markets Tax
We are a leading global financial institution with a robust focus on private markets, including private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and credit investments. Our Tax team plays a critical role in supporting the firm’s strategic objectives by ensuring compliance and optimizing tax strategies. We are seeking an experienced Head of Private Markets Tax to lead our tax operations and advisory for private markets activities, driving excellence and innovation in a dynamic environment.
Role Overview
As the Head of Private Markets Tax, you will oversee all tax-related activities for the firm’s private markets investments, ensuring compliance, managing risk, and providing strategic tax advice. This senior leadership role requires deep expertise in tax regulation and private markets, along with strong leadership capabilities to manage a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of tax strategies for private markets investments, optimizing tax efficiency while maintaining compliance.
- Oversee tax compliance and reporting processes across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Provide strategic tax advisory support for complex transactions, fund structuring, and portfolio management.
- Monitor changes in global tax regulations and assess their impact on private markets activities, advising senior leadership on necessary actions.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to structure investments and funds efficiently.
- Represent the firm in discussions with tax authorities and other regulatory bodies.
- Manage and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Deliver insights and updates to senior management on tax risks, opportunities, and developments.
Requirements:
- Strong academic background in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation; professional qualifications such as ACA, CTA, or ACCA are essential.
- Extensive experience in tax management within private markets, private equity, real estate, or a related financial services sector.
- In-depth knowledge of UK and international tax regulations affecting private markets.
- Proven track record of leading complex tax projects and transactions across multiple jurisdictions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide strategic insights.
- Outstanding communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- A proactive and results-driven approach, capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
