European Tax Director

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic European Tax Director to lead our tax function and contribute to the success of our organization.
Role Overview
As the European Tax Director, you will oversee all aspects of tax strategy, compliance, and advisory across multiple jurisdictions. This role is critical for ensuring the effective management of tax risks while identifying opportunities for value creation through efficient tax planning. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and cross-functional teams to achieve strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive tax strategies to optimize the organization’s tax position across Europe.
- Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations, overseeing tax filings, audits, and reporting.
- Provide expert advice on complex tax issues, including M&A, restructuring, and cross-border transactions.
- Collaborate with finance, legal, and operational teams to align tax strategies with business objectives.
- Monitor and analyze changes in tax legislation, assessing their impact on the organization and providing proactive solutions.
- Build and maintain relationships with tax authorities, external advisors, and internal stakeholders.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing tax team.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to senior leadership on tax risks, opportunities, and strategies.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in tax strategy, compliance, and advisory within a multinational organization or Big 4 firm.
- Expertise in European tax regulations, transfer pricing, and cross-border transactions.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop teams.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent are essential.
- Fluency in English is required; additional European languages are advantageous.
