Senior Credit Analyst
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Credit Analyst to join our team at BNP Paribas. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and assessing credit risk for a diverse portfolio of clients and counterparties. Your expertise will help ensure that the bank maintains its high standards of credit quality while supporting business growth and risk management initiatives.
About the Role:
As a Senior Credit Analyst, you will play a critical role in evaluating creditworthiness, structuring credit facilities, and providing insights to senior management on potential risks and opportunities. You will collaborate closely with relationship managers, risk teams, and other stakeholders to deliver sound credit decisions and recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough credit analysis on clients and counterparties, assessing financial performance, market position, and risk factors
- Prepare detailed credit applications and recommendations for new transactions, renewals, and amendments of existing credit facilities
- Monitor the credit quality of the assigned portfolio, ensuring timely identification and mitigation of emerging risks
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including relationship managers and risk teams, to structure and execute credit facilities
- Analyze industry trends, macroeconomic factors, and regulatory developments that may impact credit risk
- Participate in credit committees and present recommendations to senior management for approval
- Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date credit files, documentation, and reporting for assigned accounts
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of credit processes, methodologies, and tools
- Provide mentorship and support to junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) are a plus
- 5+ years of experience in credit analysis, corporate banking, or a related field
- Strong understanding of financial statements, credit risk assessment methodologies, and industry analysis
- Proven ability to assess complex credit structures and provide sound recommendations
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present credit analysis and recommendations effectively
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in credit risk management
- Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software, including Excel and credit rating systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
