Fund Finance Controller – Private Debt/Real Estate Debt

We are seeking a highly experienced Fund Finance Controller to join our team, specializing in private debt and real estate debt. This role offers an excellent opportunity to oversee the financial operations of complex fund structures and contribute to the success of a leading organization in the alternative investment space.

About the Role:
As a Fund Finance Controller, you will take ownership of fund-level financial management, reporting, and analysis for private debt and real estate debt funds. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and efficient fund operations. This position requires a strategic mindset and a deep understanding of fund accounting, private debt, and real estate debt structures.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, investor reports, and fund performance metrics
Manage the fund accounting process, including capital calls, distributions, and valuations of fund assets
Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards, fund agreements, and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with external auditors, fund administrators, and tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely reporting
Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management on fund performance and investment strategies
Lead cash flow management, including forecasting, monitoring liquidity, and optimizing capital structures
Support the structuring of new funds and capital raises, working closely with legal, compliance, and investment teams
Monitor fund expenses and budgets, ensuring cost-efficiency and adherence to fund guidelines
Maintain and enhance internal controls and operational processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency in fund management
Serve as a point of contact for investors, addressing inquiries related to fund performance and financial matters

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; CPA or CFA designation preferred
7+ years of experience in fund finance, accounting, or related fields, with a focus on private debt or real estate debt funds
Strong understanding of fund accounting principles, private debt, and real estate debt structures
Expertise in financial modeling, cash flow analysis, and performance reporting
Experience with fund administration, regulatory compliance, and financial audits
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency in financial reporting tools, fund management systems, and advanced Excel skills
Knowledge of tax and regulatory considerations for private equity and real estate debt funds
