We are seeking a highly skilled Private Credit Liability Management Associate to join the MSIM (Morgan Stanley Investment Management) team in New York. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of our private credit business by supporting key strategies in liability management.

About the Role:
As a Private Credit Liability Management Associate, you will play a critical role in managing the firm’s private credit portfolio, focusing on optimizing liability strategies to ensure the efficient execution of investment mandates. You will work closely with senior professionals across investment management, operations, and legal teams to support key strategic initiatives, focusing on the credit portfolio's liabilities, risk management, and financial structuring.

You will have the opportunity to apply your expertise in credit markets and liability management to optimize and manage the structure of private credit deals, helping the team to execute transactions efficiently while maintaining compliance with investment mandates and risk tolerances.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the execution of liability management strategies for private credit investments
Collaborate with senior investment and risk teams to analyze portfolio performance and optimize capital structures
Monitor market conditions and identify potential opportunities to enhance portfolio returns
Assist with structuring and executing private credit transactions, including debt issuance, refinancing, and liability optimization
Conduct financial modeling and analysis to support the evaluation of credit deals and liability restructuring
Ensure compliance with investment guidelines and regulatory requirements in relation to liability management
Work with internal teams, including legal, operations, and compliance, to ensure smooth execution of investment strategies
Prepare presentations, reports, and other materials for internal and external stakeholders
Participate in meetings and discussions with senior leaders to provide insights on market trends, portfolio positioning, and liability management opportunities

Qualifications:

2-5 years of experience in credit, liability management, investment banking, or a related field
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline
Strong understanding of private credit markets, capital structures, and liability management strategies
Experience with financial modeling, credit analysis, and portfolio management
Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to private credit and financial markets
Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
