Vice President – Compliance Officer: Fixed Income Sales & Trading – Credit

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our Fixed Income Sales & Trading team. In this role, you will provide compliance oversight for the credit trading desk, ensuring that all activities adhere to relevant regulations and internal policies. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and play a key role in managing compliance risks within fixed income sales and trading.

About the Role:
As a Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for providing strategic compliance advice and support to the fixed income credit trading desk. You will work closely with traders, sales teams, and senior management to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. You will also monitor trading activities, review transactions, and proactively address potential compliance issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide compliance oversight and advisory services to the Fixed Income Sales & Trading team, with a focus on credit trading
Monitor trading activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory frameworks, including Dodd-Frank, MiFID II, and Volcker Rule
Conduct surveillance of credit trading activities, identifying any suspicious or non-compliant behavior and advising on necessary actions
Review and approve new product offerings, trades, and transactions, ensuring they comply with legal and regulatory requirements
Work closely with internal teams, including legal, risk management, and operations, to ensure the implementation of compliance procedures across the trading desk
Conduct compliance testing and monitoring activities, identifying areas of improvement and ensuring corrective actions are taken as needed
Advise on regulatory developments and assist in the implementation of necessary changes to business practices and compliance programs
Assist in the preparation and delivery of compliance training for the sales and trading teams
Support internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and investigations, ensuring compliance with reporting and documentation requirements
Foster a culture of compliance across the business by promoting awareness and best practices within the trading desk

What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field (law degree or other advanced degree a plus)
7+ years of experience in compliance, with a focus on fixed income sales & trading or credit trading
Strong knowledge of fixed income products, credit trading, and financial regulations governing these activities
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as Dodd-Frank, MiFID II, Volcker Rule, and other relevant compliance standards
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders
Proficiency in compliance surveillance tools and systems is a plus
Proven track record in advising on complex compliance matters within the financial services industry
